Every Winter we struggle with dry, cracked skin, and every year I struggle to find anything that helps without irritating side affects, like greasiness, strong scents etc. This year we have taken the #MyAquaphor Challenge and so far we have been nothing but impressed. Eucerin Aquaphor Soothing Skin Balm is an ointment that can literally be used for anything.
As a mum, I spend a lot of time out and about with a pushchair. Recently as the weather has started to turn and become colder, my hands have become really dry and sore. Gloves and mittens aren’t very practical for parents on the go, I find myself constantly having to remove and then replace them, which is just irritating. And then, if you get caught in the rain, your gloves just soak through and become sopping wet because you have no choice but to have them out on the pushchair. For the past few days I have started keeping my Aquaphor in the pushchair organiser, and applying it whenever necessary. Already my hands feel noticeably softer and they are no longer dry and sore.
One thing I often worry about is products that I have used transferring onto Odette. Her newborn skin is so precious and fragile that I don’t want to damage it in anyway, especially with harsh chemicals found in lots of skin products. Luckily Eucerin Aquaphor is fragrance and preservative free, and with only a handful of ingredients it is safe to use on babies. In fact, after loving it myself, and knowing that it is safe, I have started applying it to Odette and Ivy’s skin too.
Odette has a lot of dry, flaky skin on her arms and legs still, so I have started to use a very small amount of Aquaphor, which is all you really need, to help soften and moisturise her skin. And after only a couple of applications, her skin is looking so much better and she is beautifully soft.
Ivy is teething again, she is cutting her final molars, and unfortunately for her teething always brings nappy rash. I have started applying Aquaphor to help ease the soreness, and again there is a noticeable difference already. The balm appears quite greasy when you first dispense it from the tube, but it soaks into skin quickly and without leaving a greasy residue, perfect for those sensitive areas meaning Ivy stays comfortable as well as rash free.
When I came home from a quick trip out in the car today, I went straight to the pushchair to grab my Aquaphor, only to find it wasn’t there. It would appear that Rob is loving it too!! In fact, I think we might need to invest in a couple more tubes….one for the girls bedroom ready for nappy changes and soothing skin after bath time, and another one to keep in the kitchen, handy for using after washing up or when the heating starts to feel like it’s drying our skin out. No need for multiple products anymore, from now on we will just be using Eucerin Aquaphor Soothing Skin Balm for everything!
